MAJURO – The ongoing implementation of the Compact of Free Association (COFA) with the United States continues to deliver vital support to the RMI. With over $372 million in Compact funding allocated for the previous fiscal year, the benefits are being felt across the education, health, and infrastructure sectors.

For the Division of Immigration, the Compact remains a cornerstone of our operational reality. It facilitates the unique visa-free travel privileges for RMI citizens entering the United States and supports the presence of U.S. postal and aviation services in the islands.

Citizens are reminded that while they enjoy special entry status into the U.S., they must still travel with a valid RMI passport. The Division encourages all citizens planning to work or study in the U.S. to ensure their passports have ample validity remaining to avoid disruptions to their status abroad.
