MAJURO – As the peak travel season continues, the Division of Immigration wishes to remind all international visitors and airline carriers of the standard entry requirements for the Republic of the Marshall Islands.
Visitors from eligible countries are granted a Visa on Arrival (VOA) valid for a maximum of 30 days. To qualify for this visa, travelers must present:
- A passport valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of entry.
- Physical proof of a confirmed return or onward ticket.
- Evidence of sufficient funds to support their stay.
Visitors wishing to stay beyond the initial 30-day period must apply for an extension at the Division of Immigration office in Majuro before their visa expires. Staying in the Republic with an expired visa is a violation of the Immigration Act and may result in fines or deportation.
“We are seeing an increase in travelers arriving without printed return tickets,” noted a senior immigration officer. “Digital itineraries on phones are often not accepted if connectivity issues prevent verification. We strongly urge all visitors to carry printed travel documents.”
